Wildlife Safari Deals publishes independent safari research, destination guidance, lodge comparisons, itinerary information, and booking-focused travel content. This policy explains how our editorial work is researched, written, reviewed, funded, and corrected.
Our editorial purpose
Our aim is to help travellers understand safari destinations, compare suitable options, and reach established third-party booking providers with clearer expectations about wildlife, seasons, routes, accommodation, and costs.
Authors and experience
Our editorial content is written and reviewed by Gareth Wilson and Kerri Mason. Gareth is a former South African journalist with more than 15 years of experience and is a two-time Journalist of the Year recipient, a Regional Award recipient, and a Sikuvile Journalism Award recipient. Kerri is originally from South Africa and contributes first-hand experience of game reserves, national parks, safari lodges, and travel logistics.
Research and sources
We combine first-hand experience with information from national park authorities, tourism bodies, government travel guidance, health authorities, conservation organisations, lodge and operator websites, booking platforms, and other relevant primary sources. Sources are selected according to the subject and are checked for relevance and currency before publication or review.
How recommendations are selected
Destinations, lodges, itineraries, and booking options are assessed using factors such as wildlife objectives, location, seasonality, accessibility, traveller suitability, accommodation type, booking conditions, value, availability, and the reliability of the provider. Inclusion is not a guarantee that an option will suit every traveller, and readers should verify current prices, terms, entry requirements, and health advice before booking.
Affiliate funding and editorial independence
Wildlife Safari Deals is funded partly through affiliate commissions. When a visitor follows an eligible link and completes a booking or purchase, we may receive a commission from the third-party platform at no additional cost to the visitor. Affiliate relationships help fund research, hosting, development, and editorial maintenance. They do not permit a partner to approve our wording or prevent us from identifying limitations.
Accuracy and updates
Travel information changes frequently. We review important factual claims and update pages when material information changes or when an error is reported. Publication and modification dates help readers understand when an article was created or reviewed. A modification date does not necessarily mean that every external price, route, policy, or availability result was rechecked on that date.
Corrections
